Sikkim University Walk-in-Interview May 2019 For JRF & Field Assistant Posts

Sikkim University has invited application from Indian Nationals candidate for the walk-in interview of JRF & Field Assistant posts. Details of the Interview are given below :

Title of the Project : “Key ecosystem services and biodiversity components in socio-ecological landscapes of Darjeeling – Sikkim Himalaya: deriving management & policy inputs and developing mountain biodiversity information system”

Duration : The initial appointment will be for six months, and may be extended for another one year based on performance review or till the termination of the project whichever is earlier.

1. Junior Research Fellow : 1 post
2. Field Assistant : 1 post

Education Qualification :
1. For Junior Research Fellow :
First class Masters Degree in Zoology/ Life Sciences/ Environmental Science/ Environmental management or allied
disciplines with NET
Desirable :
Experience of working in Mountain environment, interest to work on herpetofauna, working knowledge of ecological analysis, GIS & Modelling

2. For Field Assistant :
Intermediate (10+2) preferably in science. Educational qualifications may be relaxed for candidates with prior experience in assisting in the field studies and knowledge onbiodiversity of the region.
Desirable :
Experience in assisting in the field studies and knowledge on biodiversity of the region

Salary :
1. For Junior Research Fellow : Rs.25,000/- + HRA 8%
2. For Field Assistant : Rs. 10,000/- consolidated
