(a) Minimum 18 years and maximum 25 years as on 01.01.2020 (between 02.01.1995 to 01.01.2002)
Grade Pay Rs. 1900/2000 (Level- 2 OR Level- 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission)
Educational Qualification: 10th pass for the post of Technician- III. However, the training period for such Sports quota appointees will be 3 years, unless they possess ITI qualification in the relevant Trade, in which case it will be 6 months OR 12th (+ 2 stage) or its equivalent examination for the posts of Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC)
Sports Norms: The minimum sports norms for recruitment of sportspersons against sports quota in different Grade Pay and Pay Bands for both team and individual events shall be as per the table shown below:
Grade Pay: Rs. 1900 or 2000 Level : Level- 2 OR Level- 3 of Pay Matrix as per 7th Pay Commission
Minimum Sports Norms for Recruitment:
Represented the country in any of the Category-B championships /events
At least 3rd position in any of the Category-C championships /events
At least 3rd position in Senior /Youth /Junior National Championships
At least 3rd position in National Games organized under the aegis of Indian Olympic Association
At least 3rd position in All India Inter University Championships organized under the aegis of Association of Indian Universities
1st position in Federation Cup Championships (Senior Category)
NOTE: For recruitment and incentive purposes, international Championships/events are categorized
Category-A: Olympic Games (Senior)
Category-B: World Cup (Junior /Youth /Senior), World Championships (Junior /Senior), Asian Games (Senior), Commonwealth Games (Senior), Youth Olympics, Davis Cup (Tennis), Champions Trophy (Hockey), Thomas / Uber Cup (Badminton).
Category-C: Commonwealth Championships (Junior /Senior), Asian Championships/Asia Cup (Junior /Senior), South Asian Federations Games (Senior), USIC (World Railways) Championship (Senior), World University Games.
Only the current Annual All India Ranking shall be considered for these purposes. For the purpose the highest ranking may be considered valid for one year for the purpose recruitment. Ranking in Mixed-Doubles shall be considered
Period for Reckoning Sports Achievement: Candidates must be active sports persons and their achievements during the immediate previous 2 (two) financial years i.e., on or after 01.04.2017 shall be considered for appointment. For this purpose, concluding day of the championships/event will be taken into account. Performance in earlier championships, i.e. prior to 01.04.2017 will not be taken into consideration Selection Procedure: Short-listed eligible candidates will be called for –
(i) Trial of sports performance.
(ii) Assessment of sports achievement & educational qualification etc.
NOTE: Only those candidates who perform better than the existing railway sports persons in their respective events, and if they fit into the NFRSA team, will be considered for appointment
Procedure for Recruitment:
(a) Trials of the candidates shall be conducted to assess their sports performance and suitability for Railway /Unit team as well as Indian Railways team. Trial Committee shall give its recommendation in terms of either FIT or NOT FIT, for consideration for next stage, by giving marks (maximum 40 marks), as per the criteria given below:
(i) For game skill, physical fitness & coach’s observations during trials : 40 Marks
(ii) FIT Candidate : Candidate securing 25 marks or more
(iii) NOT FIT Candidate : Candidate securing marks below 25
(b) After Trial only the FIT candidates shall be considered for the next stage i.e. assessment of sports achievement & educational qualification by the Recruitment Committee.
(c) Recruitment Committee shall award the marks (out of 60 marks) only to the FIT candidates for their sports achievements & educational qualifications etc. Candidates declared ‘NOT FIT’ will not be assessed further by the Recruitment Committee.
(d) Recruitment Committee is to add the marks given by the Trial Committee to the FIT candidates (i.e., out of 40 Marks), in order to make the final merit list (out of 100 Marks).
(e) Distribution of Marks: Maximum marks which can be awarded by the Trial Committee for performance during Trial and Recruitment Committee shall be as follows:-
(i) For game skill, physical fitness & Coach’s observations during Trials : 40 Marks
(ii) For assessment of recognized Sports Achievements as per norms : 50 Marks
(iii) Educational Qualification : 10 Marks
Total : 100 Marks
How to Apply:
Candidates need to apply application with prescribe application form(link given below Annexure- A) and send through ordinary post addressed to Senior Personnel Officer (Recruitment), Northeast Frontier Railway/HQ, Maligaon, Guwahati – 781 011 (Assam) OR dropped in the APPLICATION BOX in the Recruitment Section in the Office of Pr. Chief Personnel Officer, NF Railway/HQ, Maligaon, Guwahati (Assam) .
The envelope should be superscribed “RECRUITMENT AGAINST SPORTS QUOTA:: EVENT – …………………… & GP – …………………” with the name of the event
FEES: (i) For all candidates except those mentioned in sub-para (ii) below: Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred) only with a provision for refunding Rs. 400/- to candidates actually appearing in the written examination/trial). The IPO should be drawn in favour of PFA /NF Railway, and payable at Maligaon Post Office, Guwahati – 781011. Candidates must write their names & full address in the IPO.
(ii) For candidates belonging to SC/ST/Ex. Servicemen/Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), Women, Minorities and Economic Backward Classes: Rs. 250/- (Rupees Two Hundred Fifty) only with a provision for refunding the same to those who actually appear in the trial.
(iii) ‘Minority’ means Muslims, Christians, Buddhists, Zoroastrians (Parsis) & Sikhs. Economically backward classes will mean those candidates whose family income is less than Rs. 50,000/- per annum. The following officials are authorized to issue income certificate for the purpose of identifying economically backward classes:
(a) District Magistrate or any other Revenue Officer up to the level of Tehsildar.
(b) Sitting MP of Lok Sabha for persons of their own constituency.
(c) BPL Card or any other certificate issued by Central Government under a recognized poverty alleviation programme or Izzat MST issued by Railways.
(d) Union Minister may also recommend for any persons from anywhere in the country.
(e) Sitting MP of Rajya Sabha for persons of the District in which the MP normally resides.
