NIT Jalandhar Short Term Course Jan 2019 “Recent Tools and Techniques for Research”

National Institute of Technology, Jalandhar has invited One Week Short Term Course on “Recent Tools and Techniques for Research” (RTTR-19)” (25th – 29th January, 2019). Details of the course are given below:

Who Should Attend:
1. Academicians, Research Scholars and PG Students from all the Engineering disciplines, Humanities and Management, and Applied Sciences
2. Industry Practitioners engaged in research and applications

Aims of the Short Term Course:
1. To have the insight into recent trends in the research tools and techniques.
2. To provide an opportunity for the participants to interact with the field experts.

Objectives of the Short Term Course:
This course is intended to provide a platform and opportunity to discuss the recent trends in the research methodologies and optimization with a broad objective of furthering the individual and inter disciplinary research and development activities in the technical institutions. This faculty development programme would certainly be beneficial for developing the most desirable skill set to pursue the research and development activities through the application of various important research tools like design of experiments, reference manager systems like Mendeley and Endnote, artificial neural networks, nature inspired optimization algorithms, multi-objective optimization and multiple criteria decision making etc. A special emphasis would be given to the hands on training on various tools and methodologies along with practically simulating the results of research articles, so as to build confidence, motivation and lifelong learning.

Course Contents:
In this short term course, resource persons of eminence from various organizations will deliver expert lectures and discuss the latest research issues on various topics like:
i Experimental Design
ii Hypothesis testing
iii Role of Mendeley and Latex in writing quality articles
iv Decision Making Tools and Techniques
v Optimization Tools
vi Soft Computing Techniques
vii Hands on experience on various software packages like; Design Expert, Mendeley, Minitab and Matlab Toolbox

Participants are required to bring their own Laptops for better learning experience during practice sessions on various
