Indian Army SSC Recruitment Jan 2019 for 189 Engineering Graduate Posts
Indian Army has invited applications from unmarried Male and unmarried Female Engineering Graduates and also from Widows of Defence Personnel for grant of Short Service Commission (SSC) in all Arms/ Services. Details of the recruitment are as follows:

7. Electronics/ Opto Electronics Engineering: 08 posts (Male)
8. Production Engineering: 03 posts (Male)
9. Architecture/ building Const. Tech. Engineering: 03 posts (Male)
SSC (Tech) – Male and Female:
The applicant must fall in the age of 20 to 27 years as on 1st October 2019.
SSCW - Widows of Defence Personnel:
The applicant must not have attained more than 35 years of age as on 7th October 2019.
Candidates who have passed the requisite Engineering Degree course or are in the final year of Engineering Degree course are eligible to apply. Candidates studying in the final year of Engineering degree course should be able to submit proof of passing by 01 Oct 2019 and produce the Engineering Degree Certificate within 12 weeks from the date of commencement of training at Officers Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, Tamil Nadu. Such candidates will be inducted "on Additional Bond Basis for recovery of the cost of training at Officers Training Academy (OTA) as notified from time to time as well as stipend and pay & allowances paid.
SSC (Tech) – Male and Female:
The applicant must possess an Engineering degree in the relevant branch. Final year students are eligible to apply for Short Service Commission.
SSCW – Widows of Defence Personnel:
For SSCW (Non Tech) post- the applicant can be a Graduate in any stream.
For SSCW (Tech) post- the applicant must possess B.E/ B.Tech in relevant branch.
Apart from the academic qualification, the applicant must be medically fit. Candidates must read through the official advertisement to know the terms and conditions in detail.
Stipend to Gentlemen or Lady Cadets during the entire duration of training in Service academy i.e. during training period at OTA: Rs 56,100/-p.m. (Starting pay in Level 10)
The selection procedure is as follows:
(i) Short listing of Applications. Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications and to fix cutoff percentage of marks for each Engineering discipline/ stream (cumulatively obtained upto 6th semester for Engg Degree course/ 2nd semester for M Sc. Computer science/ 8th semester for Architecture) without assigning any reason After shortlisting of applications, the centre allotment will be intimated to the candidate via their email.
(ii) Candidates will be put through two stage selection procedure at the SSB. Those who clear Stage I will go to Stage II. Those who fail in Stage I will be returned on the same day. Duration of SSB interviews is five days, and details of the same are available on official website
(a) Height and Weight The minimum acceptable height and weight for men is 157 5 cms with correlated weight and for women candidate is 152 cms and 42 Kg In case of candidates belonging to the North East and hilly areas like Gorkhas, Nepalese, Assamese and Garhwalis. the height will be relaxed by 5 cms and weight commensurate with reduced height. In case of candidates from Lakshadweep, the minimum acceptable height can be reduced by 2 cms.
(b) To pass fit, a candidate must be in good physical and mental health free from any disability.
A candidate recommended by the Services Selection Board will undergo medical examination by a Board of Service Medical officers
(a) Selected candidates will be detailed for training at Officers' Training Academy, Chennai according to their position in the final order of merit, engineering stream-wise upto the number of vacancies available at the time.
(b) Duration of Training- 49 weeks.
(c) Candidates will neither be allowed to marry during the period of training nor he/she be allowed to live with parents/ Guardians. Candidates must not marry until they complete the full training at the Officers' Training Academy. A candidate, if he/she marries while under training, shall be discharged and will be liable to refund all expenditure incurred on him/her by the government. This provision is also applicable to widows of Defence Personnel. A candidate, who marnes subsequent to the date of his/her application, though successful at the Service Selection Board interview or medical examination, will not be inducted for training, and his/her candidature will be cancelled
How to Apply.
Applications will only be accepted online through official website or the link given below. Following documents are to be carried to the Selection Centre by the candidate:
(i) One copy of the Print out of application duly signed and affixed with self attested photograph.
(ii) Self attested copy of Matriculation/ Secondary School Examination certificate or equivalent certificate issued by the concerned Board of education, in which date of birth is reflected for proof of date of birth
(iii) Self attested copy of 12"1 Class Certificate & Marksheet.
(iv) Self attested copy of Engineering Degree/Provisional Degree issued by the university.
(v) Self attested copy of Mark sheets of all Semesters. etc
