BARC Dept of Atomic Energy Recruitment Jan 2019 for Scientific Officer Posts

Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), and Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) has invited application from Engineering graduates and science post graduates for the recruitment of Scientific Officer (Group A) posts through its academic programme. Details of the recruitment are as follows:

Training Schemes and Recruitment Method:
BARC Training Schools provide two Training Schemes to deserving candidates ambitious of pursuing a rewarding career in Nuclear Science, Engineering and Technology and
a. who would relish challenges in frontier areas of Science & Technology,
b. who would like to be part of an expanding program of Nuclear Power /Research Reactors, Accelerators and Nuclear Fuel Cycle Technologies, and
c. who would enjoy pursuing innovative research in frontier areas of Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, Bioscience, Geology and Geophysics.
The recruitment will be done through One-Year Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates for the year 2019-2020 (OCES-2019) and Two-Year DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme for Engineering Graduates and Physics Postgraduates for the years 2019-2021 (DGFS – 2019).

Qualifying Degrees and Other Academic Requirements for OCES/DGFS2019:
a) For Engineering Disciplines (codes ME, CH, MT, EE, EC, CS, IN, CE, NE ):
i. B.E. / B.Tech. / B.Sc. (Engineering) / 5-year Integrated M.Tech. with a minimum of 60%* aggregate marks in one of the abovementioned eight engineering disciplines mentioned in Table-1a.
ii. It is to be noted that there is no Training discipline called „Nuclear Engineering‟ and applicants with a degree in„ Nuclear Engineering‟ will be allotted RSES at the the BARC Training School, Mumbai or ME or CH at the BARC Training
Schools at Mumbai, Kalpakkam or NFC-Hyderabad, as their Training Scheme.
iii. Applicants opting to be considered on the basis of a GATE Score must have a valid GATE-2018 or GATE-2019 Score in the same engineering discipline as the qualifying degree discipline.
iv. Those having qualifying degree in branches like Aerospace, Automobile, Automotive, Industrial Production, Automative, Reliability, Ceramics, Architecture, Geology, Mining, Bio-Medical Electronics / Instruments, Communication, Information Technology, Master of Computer Applications, Dyes & Dye Intermediates, Electrochemical, Energy Systems, Oils & Fats, Paints & Varnishes, Petrochemicals, Plastics, Paper, Sugar Technology, Textiles, Mechatronics, etc. are not eligible

Age Limit (Age as on August 1, 2019):
a) General Category – 26 years,
b) OBC – 29 years,
c) SC/ST – 31 years,
d) Dependents of those who died in the riots of 1984 (Dep1984) – 31 years,
e) Persons domiciled in Kashmir Division of Jammu & Kashmir State from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989 (Dom Kashmir) – 31 years.

Stipend:
Stipend and Allowances during Training:
OCES TSOs and DGFS Fellows are paid a stipend of Rs 35,000 per month during the period of their Training and a one time book allowance of Rs 10,000. DGFS Fellows are reimbursed the tuition fee for M.Tech./ M.Chem.Engg. and are additionally paid a one-time Contingency Grant of Rs 25,000 to meet M.Tech./ M.Chem.Engg. project related expenses.

Grade and Pay Scale:
Level 10 – Rs 56,100 of the 7th Central Pay Commission Pay Matrix.

Selection Process:
1. Candidates who successfully complete the OCES or DGFS course will be employed as Scientific Officer ‘C’ one of the DAE units or Atomic Energy Regulatory Board.
2. The selection for the post will be done through a Selection Interview; however candidates who apply for the post will be screened before being called for the Selection Interview. The screening will be done through two alternative methods.
3. The first method is an Online Screening Test. The Online Screening Test will be conducted in nine Engineering disciplines and in five science disciplines. The screening test will be held at exam centres in more than forty cities across India. The screening test will be held in March 2019.
4. The second method for screening of candidates is through GATE 2018 or GATE 2019 score.

iv) Now, go through the details in the page
v) Click on the “I have read and understood the information from Information Brochure” option
vi) A registration option will pop up
vii) Click on the same and proceed to fill the application form
viii) Submit the form and take a print out of the same for future reference if necessary

Application Fee:
Rs 500 (Rupees five hundred only)
SC/ ST/ Ex-Servicemen and Woman candidates are exempted from application fees.

Mode of payment:
Through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or Pay Offline Through E Challan.
