Corrosion behavior of novel Mg-4 wt.% Y-4 wt.%Zn- 0.2 wt.%Ca-0.5 wt.%Zr alloys in NaCl & Na2SO4 aqueous solution developed by permanent mold gravity casting.
Name of the Sponsoring Agency:
Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology
Tenure of the Project: 3 Years
Tenure of the Assignment:
Extendable annually till completion of project, subject to satisfactory performance.
The incumbent will be involved in developing Mg-based alloys by induction/crucible melting technique and assessing as-cast, solution treated, rolled, extruded alloys for their corrosion behavior in salt-water solution. Knowledge in corrosion, microscopy (OM, SEM, TEM), XRD, & others will be an added advantage.
Consolidated monthly compensation / Fellowship:
Rs. 25000/- per month; 1st and 2nd year and Rs. 28000/- per month in 3rd year.
Essential Qualifications and experience:
B.Tech with valid GATE qualification/M.Tech in Metallurgy, Foundry technology, Materials Science, Mechanical Engg, Ceramic Engg, Nanotechnology.
Bachelor accommodation in the Institute hostels may be provided subject to availability.
